Surface Design Sampler

6 hour format
Skill level: All levels
Sewing machine (zigzag) and iron optional
Supply Fee: $10.00 per student
Optional Kit $30.00

Can’t choose which surface design technique you want most to learn? Why not try a bit of each? Come spend a day freely playing with a dab of paint, a bit of foil and some photo-transfer.

Students will create a small fabric collage on batting, learn different surface design techniques, and come home with a small art-quilt or a book-cover. Techniques include printing and stenciling, stamp carving, screen printing, foiling, photo transfer and beading. If you choose to buy a kit all you’ll need to bring is scissors and either an X-Acto knife or lino carving tools.

Bring a pair of scissors and an X-Acto knife or Linoleum carving tools if you have them.

$10.00 fee
payable to teacher at class time (whether you buy a kit or not)
