Create your own designs and discover the flexibility of the many exciting ways to transform fabric with screen printing. This improvisational method is much easier than you think! Students will learn different methods of stencil screening and different methods for applying a more permanent design to a screen.

Supplies

  • Plain white or light colored cotton fabric -
    • 10-20 pieces cut into 8”x10” (or so) pieces
  • Exacto knife with #11 blade, (not a utility knife)
  • Notebook and pencil
  • Stack of newspaper as a cutting and printing surface
  • Cups to hold water and brushes
  • Plastic or Styrofoam plates for palette
  • Scissors
  • Plastic garbage bags to carry home wet stuff
  • Paper towels
  • Duct tape
  • Clear contact paper
  • Wear old clothes or an apron
