- With artwork in hand, choose a frame and mat color. Remember that they become part of the artwork so choose accordingly.
- Cut a piece of matboard the size of the interior of your frame.

- On the back of the matboard, center your artwork face down.
- Gently lift the corner and place a mark just under it.
- Mark every few inches just underneath the artwork.
- Use a hammer and a small nail (with a stack of newspaper underneath) to punch a hole on your marks.
- Place your quilt on the front of the matboard.
- Using a needle and thread that matches your quilt, knot your thread onto the back of the quilt then thread the needle through the first hole.
- Move to the next hole, go through then bend the edge of your quilt back and catch a bit of the back then go back through the same hole.

- I always try to end on a corner since it’’s easiest to turn back for your last stitch..
- I also knot the thread every few stitches as I move along just to be safe.
- If you are using glass, place spacers between the glass and the matboard to give your quilt some space.
- I usually don’t use glass.
- Place your mounted quilt in your frame, replace the backing board and secure well.

- There you have it! Framed, mounted, showing all your lovely edges.
