Mothers Hand: Burnt Out

2000
16”w x 22”h
$375.00

There are parts of motherhood we don't always like to acknowledge such as fatigue, burn-out, and perhaps even postpartum depression. Motherhood is a challenging profession that is many times, unnoticed, unrewarded, and under-appreciated. This quilt is just one in a series intended to honor those who choose this most difficult task.
This quilt is two layered; the top layer has burnt edges, a cut-out hand, beads, and quilting threads in places where there is no quilt. You can lift up the top burnt layer and read things on the blue layer such as "so tired", "everybody needs me",  "mommy" (that name must be read in a loud whining voice), "where did me go?" as well as "this too shall pass", and "to every thing there is a season."
