With artwork in hand choose a mat and frame. You will also need some watercolor or other stiff, acid-free paper.
				Trace the inside and the outside of the  mat onto the watercolor paper. Cut the paper to the same size as your mat.
				Pin your artwork onto the watercolor paper, making sure to cover the traced line of the inside of the mat. Place the mat on top, making sure everythign is positioned correctly. Mark your work, just at the corners.
				Using a heavy needle and a long stitch length, stitch your work onto the paper. Make sure to stitch well outside your marked corners. Stretch the artwork taught as you go.
				Your stitching doesn’t have to be straight. It just has to be outside your marked lines so that it doesn’t show inside the mat.
				Assemble your frame. If you are using glass place spacers either between the glass and the mat or between the mat and the artwork.
