This is what happens when you do things much too close to a deadline. The day before I had to turn in digital images for a juried show I washed the quilt in hot water and synthropol to remove a spot where some of my fabric leaves bled onto the background. All of my blue pictures turned purplish. I took the picture anyway and was juried in.

Yes, I know it looked fine, but you know how it is when you have a picture in your mind... I wanted it the way I wanted it. I unpicked all the quilting on the pictures in the borders and carefully removed the offending pictures. I re-printed all of the pictures, appliqued them into the border then added back in the machine quilting. I ended up adding many more straight lines to balance the amount of quilting between teh border and the heavily quilted center. I also gave hand quilting a try for the first time in the stitching around the family groups. I found I did not hate it at all. Still, I think I’ll stick with machine quilting as I would not finish any quilts in this lifetime otherwise.
