I began with my wedding picture and started drawing the faces. A full sized drawing was made by projecting the picture on the wall with an opaque projector... several times... I’m not an experienced portraitist. Once that looked right I began by cutting the tree branches,hand appliqueing them onto a hand-dyed background, then painting in the shading on the tree.
